Greetings in the Matchless Name of Jesus Christ,
I have the great honor to invite you to the 154th Annual Session of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc. This year’s gathering will convene in Stone Mountain, Georgia at the Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort, November 11th -14th. I await your presence and our time together in November to celebrate and give thanks to God for all that He has allowed us to overcome and accomplish.
Through evangelism, missions, worship, fellowship, and Christian education, we as a body of believers have held fast to the disciplines of scripture during the ever-changing culture of this world. Our children are constantly being challenged by other faiths and belief systems, and we have a great work of showing them that Jesus is still the way, the truth, and the life. Our auxiliaries have been faithful and loyal to their missions, our districts have been diligent in meeting, and we as a convention have not let the climate of the nation and the world stop us from reaching the less, the least, and the lost for the sake of Jesus Christ.
I want to thank you, my sisters and brothers, for your continued prayers and support of me and my amazing team as we navigate through these extraordinary times in which we live and serve. Amidst all that we’ve faced, you have remained faithful to the cause, and I humbly thank you. I am by no means perfect, but I understand purpose, and it is by God’s grace and mercy that I can stand boldly and humbly as your President with the assurance that God has His hand on us.
So, while you’re here—in worship, in study, and in fellowship—remember that God deserves our very best. Don’t let the cares of life weigh you down or suppress your praise. Give God your all as we celebrate another year that God has been faithful to GMBC. Let us be kind to one another, let us be intentional in our walk with Christ, and let us be safe in our gathering. Many are still seeing COVID-19 raise its head in our communities, and as a result, I ask that you respect each other’s space and maintain clean and healthy hygiene to slow and halt the spread of the virus. Let us continue to move cautiously but courageously.
There is nothing we can’t accomplish together, so let unity be our portion as we continue to raise leaders and connect generations.
Yours truly,
Rev. Dr. Anthony Q. Corbett Sr.
