St. James Missionary Baptist Church of Patterson (Ridge), Georgia is prayerfully seeking a God fearing man with a clear commitment to answering the call of service from God to serve as our full time pastor. All pastoral candidates must possess those biblical and spiritual qualities as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Jeremiah 3:15, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4, and 2 Peter 1:3-11. This person’s main responsibilities will be to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the Bible, to provide Christian leadership in all areas of the church and to engage in pastoral care of the congregation. All licensed/ordained candidates must demonstrate a firm grounding in scriptural knowledge, teaching, preaching of God’s words and able to articulate a vision for the church.

Church Profile
Brief History:
St. James was founded in 1875 by dedicated believers who stood on God’s word. Our commitment to God and his righteousness remains true today as the church family continues to be a light to lead others to Christ. St. James’ congregation is made up of 50 members on roll. Worship service is held at 11:30 am on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sundays. Sunday School is held every Sunday, except the 5th Sunday at 10:00 am. Bible Study is held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm. In keeping with biblical principles and as ordered by our Lord, Holy Communion is observed and administered every 2nd Sunday. St. James also holds and supports various other worship services and Christian education opportunities when they arise.

Pastoral Candidate Qualifications
 He must be a licensed and ordained Baptist minister with a demonstrated commitment to the call: God fearing.
 Meet scriptural criteria as outlined in 1Timothy 3:1-7, Jeremiah 3:15, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4, and 2 Peter 1:3-11.
 Have church administration and organizational skills.
 Have a clear understanding of the Baptist Doctrine and Articles of Faith.
 Be an effective communicator, approachable, with a demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver biblically sound lessons.
 Be committed to church growth and membership retention.
 Be able to articulate a vision for the church that emphasizes spiritual growth, development, and discipleship.
 Shepherd, train, and encourage the ministerial staff and other church leaders.
 The pastor will need to be available to respond to the needs of the membership.
 Live in the surrounding areas near the church’s county (Pierce County).
 Provide spiritual leadership that will lead the congregation to live in service for Christ.

2. A current resume which includes a summary of relevant ministry professional and educational experiences.
3. Copies of ministerial license and ordination certificate.
4. Verification of theological degree and training.
5. Two letters of recommendation (professional/spiritual and personal)
6. Signed authorization consent form
