Spread the Word! - Bryant Theological Seminary to Launch New Online Classes Beginning December 2nd !

Greetings Member Churches,

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Bryant Theological Seminary, The General Missionary Baptist Convention (GMBC) will be launching the grand re-opening of the esteemed institution via online registration beginning December 2, 2017. With online courses commencing February 1, 2018, students can earn either a Certificate in Biblical Studies or an Associate’s degree in Biblical Studies. The goal is to commence with 100 students.

We began in 1937 with the earnest and sincere desire to provide a quality religious educational experience to all who desired to serve our Lord in the most enlightened and informed manner possible. Today, we seek to continue that mission, while yet holding to the words of that old familiar song, “…to serve this present age, our calling to fulfill.”

We are excited about awakening the limitless possibilities of Bryant Theological Seminary ONLINE and are committed to establishing it as a credible, holistic, scholastic institution of Biblical Studies internationally. We solicit the help of the member churches, pastors and members in doing so. This letter serves a formal request for assistance in the following:

1. Follow the seminary on social media and share attached info with congregation.
2. Ask your senior pastor to record a short “Motivational Moment” video to encourage others to seek higher education. This video can be uploaded to the social media sites.
3. Ask pastor to provide an inspirational quote and photo to be uploaded to sites.
4. Share the press release attached with your local news media contacts.
5. Set up a table at your church to distribute seminary brochures to prospective students.
6. Consider offering a scholarship helping at least one deserving person go to seminary.
7. Share the attached invitation to the Bryant Theological Seminary Launch Celebration.

I am so excited about what the Lord is doing in our midst. It is my sincere prayer that you will join us in one of the most exciting times in the history of our beloved General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia. Celebrating 80 Years of Educating and Equipping Great Faith Leaders of the Future
GMBC’s Bryant Theological Seminary to Launch New Online Classes Beginning December 2

ATLANTA (October 23, 2017) – In celebration of its 80th Anniversary, Bryant Theological Seminary, an auxiliary of The General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia (GMBC), will launch its first ever online courses. Prospective students can click here to view courses offered: http://www.bryanttheologicalseminary.org/. Degree programs include a Certificate in Biblical Studies and an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies. Several concentrations will be offered.

“We began in 1937 with the earnest and sincere desire to provide a quality, religious educational experience to all who desire to serve our Lord in the most enlightened and informed manner possible. Today, we seek to continue that mission, while yet holding to the words ‘to serve this present age, our calling to fulfill,’ - a familiar old song,” says Rev. Mark A. Seals, M. Div., Program Coordinator for Bryant Theological Seminary.

In keeping with its traditional values and to further serve the present generation of millennials and other diverse age groups, the seminary is focusing efforts on online courses. This offers a flexible schedule for full time pastors and other individuals needing the convenience of not having to be confined to a building. There is a cost savings in terms of time and expenses associated with traveling back and forth to school from miles away. Further, exceptionally trained, internationally renowned seminarians can teach the class from any place in the world.

“We are seeking the high school graduate who wants to begin their journey towards being a trained lay person or clergy, but needs the time, flexibility, schedule and a cost effective way of getting started. Another person would be a part-time or full-time pastor that has not had the time, resources or flexibility to continue their academic pursuits. Finally, church members, college students, and all individuals having a desire to be trained in ministry in order to serve the local congregation, their community and the world, are encouraged to attend,” says Rev. Seals.

By way of background, the GMBC was founded in 1870 in Augusta, Georgia. It is the largest organization for African Americans in the state. It has provided numerous educational and enrichment programs and resources to its members and the community for more than 126 years. Bryant Theological Seminary, initially designed to provide highly trained individuals within the GMBC, was one catalyst in doing so. It has evolved and has become all-inclusive – inviting Christians from around the world to become students at the globally recognized institution.

Media and the public are cordially invited to the Bryant Theological Seminary Online Launch Celebration on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 4:00 pm in Ballroom A of the Macon Centreplex in Macon, Georgia. Rev. Mark A. Seals and other representatives are available for interviews in person, by phone or via email. Please find images attached.
