To My General Missionary Baptist Convention Family:

After prayer, extensive deliberation, and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2021 Youth and Young Adult Conference, scheduled to take place on July 19th – 21st at the Marriott Macon CentrePlex, Macon, GA.
.
We are concerned about COVID-19 and its variants, in addition to a large majority of Youth and Young Adults not being vaccinated at this time.

We have concluded that it is inadvisable to hold this conference at this time. This is not a decision made lightly, and we are disappointed to delay an event that will provide enormous collaborative value and serve as a platform to launch future work with youth and young adults around the state. Our highest priority, however, is to proactively take all precautions regarding the health and safety of everyone in attendance.

We are actively working to reschedule the Youth and Young Adult Conference for a later date. With hopes of many attendees and dynamic spiritual and educational content, this was poised to be a successful event. We know the rescheduled event will be just as or more successful. Please look for our announcement of a new date and remain safe, take precautions, and pray without ceasing.

The Executive Board Meeting of our Convention will be held Monday, July 19, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Lizzie Chapel Baptist Church, 1180 Bartlett Street, Macon, GA 31204. We will adhere to social distancing, face mask will be required and temperatures will be taken upon entry.

As we move forward we are still planning the Ushers and Health Ministry Conference, August 5-7, 2021 at the Augusta Marriott and Convention Center, Augusta, GA due to the fact that a large majority of adults have been vaccinated however, we will continue to move cautiously but courageously.

Yours Because of Calvary,
Reverend Anthony Q. Corbett, Sr.
